Trump Accuses Biden at Private Event

(RepublicanDaily.org) – Former President Donald Trump again unloaded a verbal tirade against President Joe Biden and his administration, accusing Democrats of operating a “Gestapo” government.

Trump reportedly made the comments during a speech at a private event at his luxury Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida, where the former commander-in-chief bemoaned the multiple lawsuits and indictments he is currently facing. The former chief executive rehashed his long-standing accusations that all his cases are simply a form of political harassment, meant to threaten the work he has made over the years, as well as keep him from the campaign trail as much as possible.

“It’s the only way they’re going to win,” Trump told the crowd in a speech that reportedly lasted for an hour and a half. Still Trump said that “it [the cases] doesn’t bother me,” citing his poll numbers, which put slightly on top of Biden at the moment. According to poll aggregator FiveThirtyEight, the former chief executive has 41.5% support among voters, with Biden not far behind at 40.5%.

Trump is currently on trial in Manhattan over his alleged “hush money” payments to former adult actress Stormy Daniels. Prosecutors claim that Trump paid Daniels $130,000 from campaign funds to prevent her from revealing that the two had an affair, rumors that Trump believed would hurt his 2016 election campaign for president. Trump has categorically denied all charges against him and has called the proceedings a “scam trial.”

In an interview, North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum, who was in attendance at the event, essentially confirmed Trump’s remarks, but attempted to minimize their significance, saying that the former president’s reference to Nazi Germany were not “central to what he [Trump] was talking about.” Burgum is reportedly one of the people Trump is considering for the still-empty vice president position.

The White House condemned Trump’s remarks as echoes of the “appalling rhetoric of fascists.” The Jewish Council for Public Affairs joined the White House in panning the former president’s comments, saying that such statements are “wrong, offensive, and despicable.”
