General Hospital Actor Dead at 37

(RepublicanDaily.org) – Johnny Wactor, a former mainstay in the soap opera “General Hospital”, was shot and killed in what appears to be an attempted robbery in Los Angeles.

Scarlett Wactor, the actor’s mother, confirmed the news of her son’s death to news outlets. According to her, Johnny was headed home after a late shift in a bar in L.A. where he was working as a bartender at the time. He then saw a man with a mask attempting to steal something from his car. Johnny, who was also with a co-worker at the time, stepped in front of his co-worker and backed away while holding his hands up. The robber shot him anyway.

“The crazy thing is, he wasn’t trying to stop them from taking it,” Mrs. Wactor said of her son’s shooting, adding that that she hoped that her son’s killers would be found and brought to bear for their crimes.

TMZ first reported on the incident, but did not directly confirm that the victim was Wactor. The news outlet also reported that the police report for an incident at the same time as the killing indicated that the case was an attempt to steal a vehicle’s catalytic converter.

Wactor’s family said that they plan to request an autopsy for the actor, and will hold funeral services in his home state of South Carolina when authorities release his remains back to them.

Wactor’s ex-fiancé Tessa Farrell also spoke out on the incident, releasing an emotional video on social media where she called Wactor a “bright soul” and a “huge part of my journey as a human being.” Farrell, who met the 37-year old Wactor in 2013, also called on authorities in L.A. to do something about the seemingly unbridled criminality in the city.

“These criminals can’t keep being on the street,” Farrell says in the video, as tears stream down her face. “It’s not OK.”

Wactor appeared on General Hospital for 164 episodes, from 2020 to 2022, playing the character Brando Corbin.
