Fetterman and Wife Taken to Hospital After Rear-Ending Another Driver

(RepublicanDaily.org) – Democratic Pennsylvania Senator John Fetterman and his wife Giselle were brought to the hospital recently following a motor accident where the car they were in rear-ended another vehicle in Maryland.

According to the Maryland State Police, the Fetterman’s Chevrolet Traverse, which was being driven by the 54-year-old senator, rear-ended a Chevrolet Impala on Interstate-70 in Hancock in the area between Pennsylvania and West Virginia. Along with the Fettermans, the driver of the Impala was also taken to the War Memorial Hospital in Berkeley Springs, West Virginia.

Fetterman has struggled with a number of health issues, such as a stroke in May 2022, and in early 2023, he checked himself into Walter Reed Hospital to receive treatment for clinical depression. The senator has also been known to flout the traditional but informal dress code in the Capitol, where he is often seen sporting a hoodie and sweatpants outside the Senate floor.

A statement from the senator’s office confirmed the incident and said that Fetterman received treatment for a bruised shoulder and that he and his wife were discharged from the hospital shortly after, as they were only brought to the E.R. “out of an abundance of caution” following the crash.

Fetterman posted a video on Twitter/X, thanking his supporters for their well-wishes and assured people that he and his wife were okay. He also holds up a pack of frozen peas and Tylenol, which he said he is using to deal with his bruises.

The senator, who was accompanied by his wife in the video, also said that he and Giselle were celebrating their 16th wedding anniversary when the crash occurred.

“You get an F for this anniversary,” Mrs. Fetterman jokingly tells her husband in the comments to the video.

As of press time, no citations have been issued with regard to the incident, nor has the cause of the crash been determined. An investigation into the matter is active and ongoing, police said.
