Ex-Trump Endorsed Candidate Arrested for Murder

(RepublicanDaily.org) – A former pro wrestler and former congressional candidate was arrested recently for a murder that occurred in a Las Vegas hotel room.

Daniel Rodimer, who ran under the Republican party for a congressional seat for Nevada in 2020, was arrested for the murder of Christopher Tapp. Tapp was found beaten within an inch of his life inside a hotel room at the Resorts World hotel in Las Vegas in October last year.

An investigation into the incident showed that the 45-year-old Rodimer met the 47-year-old Tapp through a shared enthusiasm for racing and classic cars. Police initially attributed Tapp’s death to a cocaine overdose, but a closer look revealed that he had also suffered blunt force trauma, indicating that he had been in a fight right before he died. Tapp was still alive when he was found in the hotel room, but expired shortly after he was brought to the hospital.

Authorities say that Rodimer allegedly beat up Tapp after the latter attempted to offer cocaine to Rodimer’s stepdaughter at a party. Witnesses also told police that Rodimer had been overheard threatening to kill Tapp if the latter ever approached his stepdaughter again. Another witness reported seeing the former pro wrestler knock Tapp to the ground and punch him all over his body.

Tapp was also found out to have served 20 years in jail after being convicted of rape and murder, but was released in 2019 after his conviction was overturned.

During his run to represent the third congressional seat for Nevada in 2020, Rodimer received an endorsement from former president Donald Trump, who told him that “we’re [Team Trump] with you all the way, Dan” and called him an “incredible congressman for Nevada” during a campaign rally. Unfortunately for Rodimer, the endorsement was not enough to see him elected.

The suspect turned himself in to police following the issuance of the warrant for his arrest. Rodimer was released on a $200,000 bond.
