(RepublicanDaily.org) – Tesla, Space X, and Twitter / X CEO Elon Musk has cemented his support for former president Donald Trump, pledging a whopping $45 million a month contribution to a SuperPAC that supports the re-election of the former commander-in-chief.
Musk will join a number of other billionaires who support America PAC, which include fellow tech businessman Joe Lonsdale, the Winklevoss twins, coal magnate Joe Craft and his wife Kelly, who also happens to be the former U.S. ambassador to Canada and is running for the U.S. senate.
Musk’s commitment would potentially the biggest – or at least one of the largest – financial contributions to the 2024 election campaign cycle. His contribution, which would begin this month, would also dwarf the entirety of the political action committee’s second quarter donations, which were reported to be at $8.75 million. Musk’s decision also comes after the failed assassination of the former president in Pennsylvania.
Musk has long been one of the more prominent voices supporting largely conservative causes. He has often been critical of President Joe Biden’s platforms on Twitter, and one of his first acts when he assumed the top post of Twitter / X following his acquisition of the firm was to rescind the permanent ban on Trump’s Twitter account. The former president was previously a serial Twitter user, but was removed from the platform following the January 6, 2021 riots in the Capitol. Trump has since moved the majority of his social media activity to Truth Social, a platform similar to Twitter, but one he owns. Trump has only posted on his Twitter / X account once since it was reinstated, putting up his mugshot following his arrest in Georgia in 2023.
Outside of Twitter / X, however, there have been reports that Musk is becoming a bigger part of Trump’s inner circle, with sources saying that the controversial tech CEO could be given an advisory position in a Trump administration.
