Dems Pulling Down Anti-Trump Ads

(RepublicanDaily.org) – Ostensibly in response to the failed attempt on the life of former president Donald Trump and President Joe Biden’s subsequent call to “lower the temperature in out politics,” Democrats have begun pulling out and removing a number of supposedly overly-aggressive ad campaigns against the former chief executive.

The retreat comes in the form of a suspension of what would have been a planned massive anti-Trump advertising blitz that would have cost roughly $50 million.

The Democrats’ strategy against the former commander-in-chief – who has largely been above Biden in polls, albeit by a very slim margin – has been thrown into disarray by the attempted assassination. Even supposed plans that were looking into replacing Biden as the Democrats’ presidential nominee, following the president’s dismal performance during his last debate with Trump, have reportedly been put on hold for the meantime.

Staffers and other members officially connected to the Biden-Harris campaign have also reportedly been cautioned against commenting on the issue on social media as well as “pause any proactive campaign communication across all platforms and in all circumstances.”

The Biden campaign has also ramped up security for the president and the campaign headquarters in Wilmington, Delaware following the incident. The failed shooting saw Trump lose a chunk of his ear and the death of one of the attendees of the former president’s campaign rally in Pennsylvania, where the attack occurred. The suspect, 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks, a native of Bethel Park, Pennsylvania, was killed by law enforcement just moments after he fired the bullet that missed the former president’s head by only a couple of inches.

In addition, an independent review of the Secret Service’s actions before, during, and after the shooting will be conducted, according to Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas. Enhanced security from the Secret Service will also be provided for Trump, and Independent president candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. will also be getting a Secret Service detail of his own.
