Angie Harmon Accuses Delivery Driver of Killing Her Dog

(RepublicanDaily.org) – Actress Angie Harmon says her and her family are both outraged and grieving after an Instacart food delivery driver shot and killed the Harmon’s family dog, Ollie.

The actress, who is most known for her roles in the long-running police procedural show “Law and Order” and “Rizzoli & Isles,” another procedural TV series, took to Instagram to tell her side of the story.

Harmon said that the incident occurred over the Easter holiday at her family’s home in North Carolina. In the post, Harmon said that the driver “delivered the food & THEN shot our dog.” She also revealed that their Ring doorbell camera was charging at the time so there is no recording of the shooting. Harmon said that the delivery driver noticed the lack of a camera, which allegedly emboldened him to kill their dog.

“He [delivery driver] saw [the Ring camera was not on] & then knew he wasn’t being recorded,” Harmon wrote.

Harmon condemned the driver’s actions, showing her followers that the suspect, who was male, was operating under an Instacart delivery account owned by a female, who was identified as “Merle.”

Addressing the perpetrator Harmon wrote, “your actions are despicable and inexcusable,” adding that the death of their beloved pet has “traumatized us beyond measure.” He also called the shooting a “heartless act” and said the family is devastated that they were not able to say goodbye to Ollie.

The suspect was taken into custody by police officers but was released after claiming that he only shot the animal in an act of self-defense. Harmon, however, belied the claim, saying that the driver did not show signs of being attacked, such as bite or scratch marks, or even torn clothing.

For its part, the San Francisco-based delivery app said that it has suspended the driver and the account in question, and is cooperating with both law enforcement and Harmon and her family.
