(RepublicanDaily.org) – Actor Kevin Brophy has passed away at 70 years old after a 10-year battle with stage 4 cancer.
Known for his starring roles in iconic American TV series such as “Lucan” and feature flicks such as “Hell Night” and “The Long Riders,” Brophy passed away in his home in Rancho Santa Fe, California.
The actor was born on November 1, 1953 in Salt Lake City, Utah, but became a Californian when his family moved to the San Fernando Valley, and then Del Mar, where Brophy went to high school. He then went on to study at CalArts, studying with classmates such as Paul Reubens, Ed Harris, and David Hasselhoff.
Brophy was also known for his appearances in other iconic shows through the late 70s and early 90s such as “M*A*S*H,” “The Love Boat,” “Growing Pains,” “Hart to Hart,” “J.A.G.,” and “The Hardy Boys Mysteries.” Much of his credits on the silver screen were during the 80s, in films such as “The Seduction,” “Time Walker,” “Code Name Vengeance,” “The Delos Adventure,” and “Easy Wheels.” Brophy also briefly appeared in the acclaimed gangster movie “Goodfellas” which came out in 1990, and in 2012, was part of the film “Book of 1000 Deaths.” His final acting stint was in 2022, in a film called “The Clown Statue.”
He retired from show business after a number of years, and went on to work in Beverly Hills at the Hotel Bel Air and the Luxe Hotel.
Brophy also briefly made headlines when he, along with “Hell Night” castmate Peter Barton, were named as the recipients of an estate worth $1.2 million, which was left to them by a long-time fan, Ray Fulk, from Illinois.
Brophy is survived by his wife, Amy Prettyman Brophy, along with his children, Kelly, Michael (Lindsey), Megan, Ryan, and his two grandchildren, Jarrah and Saylor. He also left behind his mother, Carol, and a brother, John (Wendy).
