(RepublicanDaily.org) – Lara Trump, the daughter-in-law of former president Donald Trump, has spoken up about the current “hush money” lawsuits against her father-in-law, saying that it was just a “bookkeeping error,” while also blasting media outlets whom she said are showing incredible bias against the former chief executive.
“These people are so deranged… They only stand to exist in their own echo chambers,” Lara said. She also scored left-leaning commentators as being “completely disconnected” from the rest of America, and said that the current trial against her father-in-law was a “meritless clown show.”
Lara also touted that the Trump campaign’s most recent grassroots fundraiser managed to collect $1.5 million from supporters; the average donation was only $28, Lara told Fox & Friends.
“The people of America spoke up yesterday in support of Donald Trump,” she said.
Lara was ostensibly reacting to comments from MSNBC anchors and commentators Chris Hayes and Jen Psaki – the former said that Trump must be experiencing “sheer psychological torture” because of the trial, while the former White House spokesperson quipped that the former president looked “small” and “rough.”
In another interview on the show of Fox News’ Sean Hannity, Lara said that the sole purpose of the hush money trial was to keep her father-in-law from the campaign trail.
In his hush money trial, Trump is being charged with 34 counts of falsifying business records in an attempt to allegedly cover up an agreement that could potentially have affected his 2016 run for president. The agreement in question was a NDA with former pornographic film actress Stormy Daniels, with whom Trump allegedly had an affair with in 2006. The former president reportedly paid Daniels $130,000 for her to keep silent about their relationship.
Still, Lara said she was confident that the hush money trial would have little to no impact on Trump’s ability to win the presidential election.
“I think people are going to continue to support this president,” she said.
