(RepublicanDaily.org) – Far-left Democratic New York Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez seemingly got a dose of her own medicine after far-left activists and pro-Palestinian protesters harassed her and her fiancé outside a movie theatre in Brooklyn, New York recently.
The protesters constantly followed AOC, as the representative is more commonly known, as she and her fiancé attempted to walk away from the confrontation. The activists were demanding that AOC specifically use the word “genocide” to describe Israel’s military offensive in Gaza. This was despite the fact that AOC has long called out Israel over its military excursion into Gaza following Hamas’ devastating October 7, 2023 attacks on Jewish civilians in Israel, resulting in the deaths of more than 1,200 people. While she has denied supporting Hamas, she has accused Israel of committing “war crimes” in its retaliation for the October 7 attacks.
In a video of the incident, a protester is seen pestering AOC about the term – “You refuse to call it a genocide,” the person tells the congresswoman. The protester also accuses AOC of not being “actively against” Israel’s “genocidal” offensive in Gaza.
“You’re lying!” Ocasio-Cortez snaps back at the activist.
Ocasio-Cortez also appeared to tell off the protesters, saying that constantly following and badgering her and her fiancé “is not okay.” At one point, even her fiancé, Riley Roberts, speaks up and attempts to plead with the protesters to leave them alone.
Their entreaties fell on deaf ears, however, as the activists continued to pursue the couple, asking the congresswoman again and again to specifically call Israel’s military offensive a genocide.
“Why won’t you say it in front of everybody?” the protesters ask AOC.
Ocasio-Cortez, visibly angry, said that it wouldn’t matter since any statement she would make to the protesters would simply be edited and her words would be taken “completely out of context.” She also said that the protesters’ actions help nobody at all.
“It’s ****** up man… you’re not helping these people [Palestinians],” the far-left representative says.
