(RepublicanDaily.org) – It’s ridiculousness versus ridiculousness – President Joe Biden’s climate envoy, John Kerry, snapped at an activist reporter’s question during the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.
Asked what he thought about the carbon footprint was for events like the World Economic Forum, quickly followed by, “Do you think it’s worth it — peasants paying for your crimes?” Kerry did not hold back in expressing that he thought poorly of the reporter’s line of questioning.
“That’s a stupid question,” Kerry quickly fired back, annoyed.
“I never suggested that,” he retorted when Australian reporter Avi Yemini pressed Kerry saying, “Why do you think you’re more important?”
“Don’t make up stupid questions,” Kerry added. Yemini reports for the independent and progressive news outlet, Rebel News. Yemini was ultimately barred by Kerry’s security detail from pestering the presidential envoy any further. Compelled to have the last say, Yemini later posted on social media that Kerry “found it difficult to justify his carbon footprint” whenever he attends events like the World Economic Forum.
The United States Special Presidential Envoy for Climate was at the conference as its primary focus is tackling global environmental issues, such as climate change.
Kerry was appointed to the post shortly after President Biden assumed office in 2021. The position did not exist back then and was created for Kerry, and thus did not require approval from the Senate. Kerry’s office is manned by 45 staff members and has an annual budget of roughly $13.9 million.
The former U.S. secretary of state is known to be reticent about how his office spends its budget – which has prompted outrage, especially from House Republicans. However, Kerry has announced that he will be leaving his position soon, and is expected to join the Biden-Harris campaign to speak about the Biden administration’s achievements in combating climate change. A replacement has not been appointed as of press time.
