(RepublicanDaily.org) – If you’ve ever found yourself in a position where you had to call 911, you may have marveled at the relaxed, collected demeanor of the person on the other end of the phone. Despite the stress of their position, they can hold it together and dispatch the relevant help to you because that’s their job. However, a dispatcher in New Orleans is now in trouble with police after she hung up on a series of callers without explanation.
Precious Stephens, 25, reportedly failed to collect or relay any information before disconnecting several emergency calls. She now faces charges of interfering with emergency communications and malfeasance.

Stephens’ actions came to light after the Orleans Parish Communications District investigated a random set of calls she had received as a dispatcher. Upon learning what she did, the body reported her to the police. It now says it’s committed to helping authorities get to the bottom of the matter.
Making this story even stranger, it appears Stephens is now on the run. The New Orleans Police Department is now hunting for the former 911 operator. The police ask that anyone with information about her whereabouts call the NOPD at 504-658-6030 or Crime Stoppers at 504-822-1111.
