World Health Organization Activates Emergency Monkeypox Panel

World Health Organization Suddenly ACTIVATES Emergency Panel!

(RepublicanDaily.org) – As the COVID-19 pandemic begins to wane, the last thing most people want to hear about is another infectious disease with the potential to spread around the world. Unfortunately, it looks like monkeypox may be just such a case. The World Health Organization (WHO) is currently taking action to address the emerging condition.

The WHO has revealed its intention to reconvene its expert committee in an attempt to decide whether to designate the current monkeypox outbreak as a global health emergency. The agency has recorded over 9,000 cases of the illness across 63 countries, with a growing proportion of new infections occurring in New York City.

Symptoms of the condition include rashes all over the body, fever, and genital rashes. Most infections have occurred in men who have sex with other men, though other demographics have been affected as well.

According to Scott Gottlieb, a former Food and Drug Administration (FDA) commissioner, our chances of containing monkeypox may be slipping away. During a recent appearance on CBS, Gottlieb opined that officials were skirting around using the word “pandemic” in relation to monkeypox, as it would imply a failure on their part to keep the disease under wraps.

Do you think there’s a chance we might still prevent monkeypox from becoming the next global pandemic? Are you concerned?
