Trump Critic Joe O’Dea Loses Senate Race
(RepublicanDaily.org) – The midterm elections have posed a number of political headaches for former President Donald Trump, with some Republicans blaming him for the party’s poor performance. However, one result Trump was apparently happy with came out of Colorado, with his Republican critic Joe O’Dea losing out on a US Senate seat in his race against incumbent Senator Michael Bennet (D-CO).
O’Dea singled himself out as an opponent of the former president throughout his campaign. Though he acknowledged voting for Trump in both 2016 and 2020, the defeated candidate said he did not agree with the voter fraud narrative Trump pressed after the latter election. He was fiercely critical of the former president and his supporters throughout his Senate campaign, targeting Trump’s refusal to admit he lost the election.

The incumbent Bennet beat O’Dea relatively comfortably in their race, as polls predicted he would. After the result became public knowledge, Trump took to Truth Social to celebrate O’Dea’s loss, prompting angry reactions from some other Republicans concerned about the balance of power in the Senate. O’Dea acknowledged his feud with Trump in the days after the vote and reiterated his opinion that the country needed to move forward rather than remain focused on the election of 2020.
Whose side are you on in this dispute: Joe O’Dea’s or Donald Trump’s?
