Trump SWEEPS – 22 to 0!
(RepublicanDaily.org) – Former President Donald Trump retains a huge amount of sway within conservative ranks, despite not having held elected office for well over a year at this point. Until now, analysts weren’t entirely sure of the extent of this influence. However, following a landslide of victories for primary candidates Trump endorsed, there is much less doubt about it.
On Tuesday, May 3, 22 candidates who received the former president’s official backing claimed victory in primary races in Ohio and Indiana, according to the Gateway Pundit. No Trump-endorsed candidates lost in their primary.
One high-profile victor was JD Vance, a Republican candidate for the US Senate in Ohio. Vance, who once opposed Trump, is well-known as the author of the autobiographical novel “Hillbilly Elegy” which later became a Netflix film. According to Kari Lake, a Republican candidate in Arizona’s upcoming gubernatorial race who also received an official endorsement from former President Trump, victories like Vance’s signal the rise of the “New Right.”
