Trump Rolls Out Plan To Tax China to “Build America” As Part of 2024 Presidential Campaign

(RepublicanDaily.org) – Former president Donald Trump has rolled out an economic plan that will tax China to “build America” as part of his campaign for reelection as president in 2024, Fox News reported. The Trump “America First” plan would eliminate China’s “favored nation trade” status, as well as ban federal contracts for companies that outsource to China, Fox reported.

In recent weeks, Donald Trump has amplified his presidential campaign, headed on a state-by-state trail with hopes of earning the Republican National Convention’s nomination, The Washington Post reported.

The 2024 Presidential Election race is expected to be crowded with Republican candidates seeking the nomination. The crowded space is packed with candidates, with some candidates yet to announce their official campaign launch. Former Governor of South Carolina and Trump-era diplomat Nikki Haley has officially joined the race, in a quiet bid to counter Trump. Media analysts reasoned that the crowded space of candidates will probably boost the Trump campaign when it comes down to the nomination and that Haley may choose to run as Trump’s running mate.

Ahead of ambitious policies and campaign trail efforts, the Trump campaign has been met with controversies. This includes the sentencing of a GOP operative in a scheme to “funnel Russian money” to the Trump 2016 presidential campaign, Axios reported. Jessie Benton, a former aide to Senator Mitch McConnell (R. Ky), was sentenced to 18 months in prison for his role in helping to funnel “illegal foreign campaign contributions.”

In addition, the special grand jury in Fulton County, Georgia, released the findings of its reports, with prospective indictments announced. On February 24, the presiding judge, Fulton County Superior Court Judge Robert McBurney, stated that jurors were free to discuss the special counsel’s findings, CNN reported.

As the special grand jury’s findings were released, and jurors stated that a Trump indictment was “possible,” the Trump classified document scandal continued to unfold. Trump has been under investigation by a special counsel for his handling of classified materials from the Trump administration that he brought with him to his estate at Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach, Florida, after he left the Oval Office.
