(RepublicanDaily.org) – Wednesday, January 20, brought the end of an era as Donald Trump’s first term drew to a close. America is already beginning to adapt to new leadership, and the Trump family will also have to make adjustments. One of them has to do with security.
Before he left office, Trump ordered the Secret Service to keep an eye on his adult children, and two of their spouses, for the next six months. Usually the only people who get this security are the former president, first lady, and minor children. However, considering the degree of division and ill-feeling in America at the moment, it seems entirely reasonable for Trump to take extra steps.
Some commentators have questioned whether Trump’s adult children really need this protection, like Washington Post reporter Carol Leonnig.
Before he left, Trump directed that all of his extended family get 24/7 Secret Service protection, per my sources. Thirteen family members not legally entitled to that protection and many of whom are grown adults. It will cost taxpayers millions. https://t.co/B6N1aVsjXc

These kinds of objections are hardly surprising, given the level of criticism sent in Donald Trump’s direction over the last number of years. As an intelligent leader and a concerned father, this seemed a logical step for him to take.
