Ted Cruz Calls for FBI Investigation of Hunter Biden’s Homes, Probe of Biden Senate Records

(RepublicanDaily.org) – Ted Cruz called for an FBI investigation of Hunter Biden’s residences for possible classified documents, The Hill reported on January 30. Cruz said that it appears Biden “leaves documents everywhere he goes,” and argued that searching Hunter Biden’s homes was a “natural next step” in the classified document investigation.

President Biden is under special counsel investigation following the discovery of classified documents from the Obama administration at “multiple unsecured locations” including the University of Pennsylvania’s Penn Biden Center and Biden’s private residence in Wilmington, Delaware.

Following the discovery of more classified documents at President Biden’s private residence, Senator Ted Cruz (R.TX) likewise called for a search of Biden’s Senate archives donated to his alma mater, the University of Delaware, New York Post reported. Cruz told Fox News that he believes the Senate records should be reviewed given the “sloppy” handling of other classified documents at Biden’s other operating locations.

University of Delaware’s Biden Records houses 1,850 boxes of paper records and 415 gigabytes of electronic records, Fox News reported. The Biden donated documents can reportedly fill the container of “two tractor-trailer trucks.”

The University of Delaware has reportedly not released the “gift agreement” information detailing who was paid to archive the Biden Records.

As Biden’s handling of documents comes under scrutiny from both the Republicans and Democrats, the University of Delaware trove has become part of the political debate.

Jonathan Turley, an opinion commentator for the New York Post, questioned why the University had served as a “lockbox” for “potentially embarrassing” documents for the Biden family. Turley reasoned that said lockbox is becoming “more and more vulnerable” for the Biden administration.

Since the discovery of the classified documents was made public, the Penn Biden think tank has been under the spotlight, the Associated Press wrote on January 29. House Oversight Committee Chairman Rep. James Comer called on the University of Pennsylvania to disclose anonymous Chinese Communist Party affiliated donations to the center, as Congress reviewed the national security implications of the documents being stored at the think tank’s offices.
