State GOP Fundraising Sets a Record

(RepublicanDaily.org) – As the immigration crisis on our southern border persists, state governments are taking matters into their own hands. On Wednesday, October 6, 11 GOP governors had a meeting in Mission, Texas, to discuss combining their strategies on tackling the issue. Given the dwindling faith people appear to have in the federal government under President Joe Biden, state-led initiatives like this could become more popular over the coming months. Some voters are putting their money where their mouths are in this regard.

On Wednesday, the Republican State Leadership Committee (RSLC) announced it pulled in $8.3 million in fundraising between July and September this year alongside the State Government Leadership Foundation (SGLF), its strategic policy partner. This figure set the record for donations in the third quarter of a non-election year.

This haul also brings total donations for 2021 to around $19 million, exceeding the two groups’ takings for the entirety of 2019.

These groups back conservative candidates for positions at the state government level. This surge in funding could help consolidate the Republican advantage in state governments across the country. The GOP currently holds 54% of the nation’s state government seats and 61 of 99 state legislative chambers.
