Ron DeSantis Reveals the Blueprint for Republican Success Moving Forward
(RepublicanDaily.org) – Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R) is riding a wave of popularity at the moment. Having stormed to victory over Democrat Charlie Crist in his recent midterm election battle, he has cemented his place as one of the most popular and well-respected Republicans in the country. A speech he gave at the Republican Jewish Coalition recently has fueled yet more speculation he’s eyeing a shot at the White House in 2024.
The address focused on the reasons why the GOP had been so successful in Florida in the recent midterms, as well as how this might provide insights into how the party might proceed over the coming years. Florida Republicans secured four new GOP seats in the US House of Representatives, including one in the typically liberal Miami Beach district. Also, DeSantis’ gubernatorial win was the biggest in the state’s history.
The governor began by noting the support Florida Republicans had provided to the Jewish community and Israel, highlighting the contrast with other states in this regard. He then talked about general leadership principles that work for Republicans, such as sticking to a clear vision of the future when setting policies rather than “contort yourself … to public opinion.” The governor also spoke of the importance of fighting the “woke elite,” standing up “for what’s right,” and fighting for constituents.
