(RepublicanDaily.org) – Florida Governor Ron DeSantis criticized former President Donald Trump’s leadership style, in a recent appearance on the Piers Morgan show, The Washington Post reported.
The Florida governor “doubled down” calling into question Trump’s character, The New York Times reported. Making a strong contrast between himself and the former president, DeSantis claimed there was “no daily drama,” in the Florida governor’s office, Fox News reported. DeSantis claimed he was a “pragmatic” leader by comparison, and dismissed Trump’s recent comments about him as “background noise” that was, in his view, not worth engaging with.
DeSantis’ comments followed weeks of feuding between the former president and his possible 2024 Presidential election campaign rival. DeSantis is an anticipated contender for the Republican nomination.
In recent news, the Trump campaign filed a motion with the Florida ethics board claiming that DeSantis had violated local ethics laws of a presidential campaign by collecting personal political gain toward the 2024 presidential cycle while having yet to file an official campaign notice. The ethics complaint was filed by Trump’s super PAC, MAGA Inc., which called for DeSantis to be punished “to the full extent of the law,” The New York Times reported.
Donald Trump has hotly criticized DeSantis while tagging him with monikers such as “Ron Sanctimonious” and “Meatball Ron.”
Trump lashed out at DeSantis following his appearance on the Piers Morgan show via his Truth Social platform. He called out DeSantis and claimed that he was “running without running” for president. Trump likewise claimed that DeSantis was not doing what he should be doing to help Florida, but was rather meeting with what he called a “ratings-challenged TV host” from England, referring to Piers Morgan. Trump likewise claimed that he had “put DeSantis in office,” and that it was his fault that the Florida governor was now using his platform to run against him.
