Ron DeSantis Calls on Republicans to Grow a “Backbone”

Ron DeSantis Calls on Republicans to Grow a

( – Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R) has distinguished himself as a no-nonsense conservative leader since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. He consistently refused to embrace the harsh containment measures preferred by Democratic states and the Biden administration. Last week, he targeted Dr. Anthony Fauci by bringing “Don’t Fauci My Florida” merchandise to market as a campaign fundraising effort.

Now, however, DeSantis is targeting Republicans as well as Democrats. On Wednesday, July 14, he called on Conservatives to “have the backbone” to challenge unfair attacks from figures on the Left. During a religious liberty event hosted by the Alliance Defending Freedom, he discussed the Liberal tendency toward using “smear” tactics to bully Conservatives.

Speaking specifically about religious freedom, DeSantis criticized the judiciary’s failure to protect Americans’ First Amendment rights adequately. He said Conservative judges need to “show some fortitude” and consider cases that are “important to this country.” He blasted the politicization of the courts, noting that judges exhibited “cowardice” when they failed to make proper rulings on contentious matters for fear of “extraneous consequences.”

So, does DeSantis have a point? Is it time for Conservatives to stand up and make their voices heard?
