Republican Leader Joins Crucial Senate Race

( – The race for the US Senate in North Carolina looks set to be one of the closest elections of the 2022 midterms. Senator Richard Burr (R) will not seek reelection for his seat, and there are a number of capable conservatives bidding to take over.

On Wednesday, April 28, North Carolina State Rep. Ted Budd (R) became the newest entrant to the race. He announced his candidacy with an informal, energetic YouTube video entitled “Liberal Agenda Crusher.” In it, he affirms his commitment to the rule of law, Second Amendment rights, election security, and the pro-life movement.

He also calls out President Joe Biden, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) for their failing policies in the memorable ad.

Also among the conservative candidates for this Senate seat are former US Rep. Mark Walker and former North Carolina Gov. Pat McCrory. With his engaging campaign style and his alliance with former President Donald Trump, Ted Budd will be a very strong contender. It’s sure to be an interesting one to watch.
