Prince Andrew Assault Case Officially Dismissed

( – Convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein died in August 2019, well over two years ago now. Yet, his misdeeds still cast a long shadow, with his alleged associates still battling the law. One such individual is Britain’s Prince Andrew, who recently put some of his legal difficulties behind him.

On Tuesday, March 8, US District Judge Lewis A. Kaplan formally dismissed the lawsuit filed against the royal by Virginia Giuffre. The suit was over allegations the Prince sexually abused her in 2001, when she was 17 years of age. This official end to the case followed the agreement of a settlement between Giuffre and Prince Andrew three weeks ago.

Under the terms of the deal, the prince must make a substantial donation to a charity of Giuffre’s choice. Prince Andrew must also publicly state he did not intend to attack her character by denying her claims. A statement from Giuffre’s lawyer revealed Prince Andrew has accepted that she suffered harm through both sexual abuse and unfair public criticism.

While this outcome might keep legal trouble at bay for Prince Andrew, pressing questions about his position in the Royal Family still remain. Will his mother Queen Elizabeth move to further exclude him from the family and from public engagements?

Only time will tell.
