(RepublicanDaily.org) – For a short while this week, something almost unimaginable happened; the Right and Left agreed with each other. Politicians from every background united in congratulating those behind the GameStop stock surge, as it represented a huge win for retail investors over hedge funds. Of course, it didn’t take long for the ugly nature of our political scene to re-emerge.
On Thursday, January 28, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) posted a tweet questioning Robinhood’s decision to block retail investors’ access to GameStop stock. Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) replied with the following:
Fully agree. 👇 https://t.co/rW38zfLYGh

Instead of responding positively to Cruz, or even ignoring him, Rep. Ocasio-Cortez brought up his supposed role in the January 6 incident at the Capitol Building. She even accused him of trying to have her murdered. This calls back to social media assassination threats against Ocasio-Cortez by a person who infiltrated the Capitol a few weeks ago.
I am happy to work with Republicans on this issue where there’s common ground, but you almost had me murdered 3 weeks ago so you can sit this one out.
Happy to work w/ almost any other GOP that aren’t trying to get me killed.
In the meantime if you want to help, you can resign. https://t.co/4mVREbaqqm

This story highlights the depressing childishness of some of the Democrat Party’s more liberal figures. Instead of taking the rare opportunity to agree with someone from a radically different political background, AOC chose to go on the attack. It’s this kind of attitude that has made our political landscape so toxic in recent times.
