Adam Schiff Addresses Possibility of Facing Subpoena
(RepublicanDaily.org) – A Democratic lawmaker is refusing to confirm if he’ll comply with a potential subpoena from House Republicans. Representative Adam Schiff (D-CA) has used his position to launch a series of attacks on former President Donald Trump. Now, he faces being investigated himself, and suddenly seems less keen on the process.

Schiff, the chair of the House Intelligence Committee, was an early promoter of the since discredited Russia collusion story. He accused Trump of lying about the phone call to Ukraine and the CIA’s investigation into the murder of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi. He’s been a major player in the January 6 investigation, which is packed with Democrats and anti-Trump Republicans. For six years, he’s been taking every chance to attack the former president. Now, he could be stripped of his committee roles in the next GOP-majority House — and some Republicans want him called to testify on his activities.
When Schiff talked to CNN on Sunday, he refused to say he’d comply with any subpoena Republicans issued to him. He claimed he would need to “consider the validity” of a subpoena and look at its “legitimacy or lack of legitimacy.” What Schiff seems to be ignoring is the same law applies to everyone. He wants to insist that Republicans testify, but give himself the right to decide what requests are “legitimate.” In a democracy based on the rule of law, that’s not how it works.
