Nancy Pelosi Suggests Secret Service Can’t Be Trusted
(RepublicanDaily.org) – House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) has been very outspoken about the events of January 6, 2021. She’s particularly vocal about the role she believes former President Donald Trump played in what unfolded that day, and has spearheaded the effort to hold him accountable. Now, she’s taking aim at the Secret Service over its alleged mistakes on the same day.
Pelosi: I wondered if Pence 'could even trust the Secret Service' on Jan. 6 https://t.co/aBIwKgxeYR

On Tuesday, October 18, MSNBC aired a discussion between the speaker and host Andrea Mitchell. Pelosi told viewers about a discussion she had with then-Vice President Mike Pence on January 6. At the time, she said, she wondered whether Secret Service operatives could be trusted to safely escort Pence from the Capitol complex.
The Secret Service has been central to the work of the House Select Committee investigating the events of January 6, as its agents were tasked with protecting lawmakers, officials, and aides on the day. There are also accusations that they destroyed evidence of what happened throughout the course of the events.
Reps. Adam Kinzinger (R-IL) and Liz Cheney (R-WY), the sole GOP members of the select committee, want Secret Service operatives to testify before the panel. On Monday, October 17, Kinzinger spoke to CNN’s Wolf Blitzer and speculated that failings at the Secret Service were due to either “pure incompetence,” “criminal activity,” or political partisanship.
Do you think Nancy Pelosi’s comments about the Secret Service are fair? Should the agency face accountability over its performance on January 6?
