MTG Files Impeachment Against Matthew Graves

(RepublicanDaily.org) – Republican Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene has introduced a motion to expel Representative Matthew Graves from Congress, Western Journal reported on May 18. Greene has also introduced motions to impeach President Joe Biden, among other public officials, the Western Journal reported.

In her statement regarding impeachment proceedings, Greene stated that, in her view, Representative Graves had “maliciously prosecuted” 1000 people who were present for the events of the January 6, 2021, Capitol riot, Rolling Stone reported. In Greene’s view, the people Graves pursued were “not real criminals,” Rolling Stone wrote.

Greene introduced a new motion to impeach President Biden on May 18, NBC News reported. In her address of the motion, Greene stated that her reason for filing it was a response to Biden’s handling of the immigration crisis at the U.S. Southern Border with Mexico, NBC News reported. In Greene’s view, Biden has put American citizens at risk through the way he has handled the border crisis.

In her statement regarding impeachment proceedings for President Biden, Greene explained that her decision was with “the highest solemnity,” Fox News reported. Greene called the president “unfit to serve” and stated that, in her view, he had spent the entirety of his time in office working to systematically destroy the United States, Fox News reported.

Greene’s impeachment motion against Biden was described as the first effort to impeach Biden since Republicans reclaimed the House majority in January, Politico reported.

In recent weeks, Representative Greene has taken steps to introduce articles of impeachment against several public officials. Earlier in May, Greene introduced articles of impeachment for FBI director Christopher Wray, Fox News reported. Greene had also introduced articles of impeachment for Attorney General Merrick Garland. Reportedly, in Greene’s view, Wray and Garland have used their positions in the Justice Department to “intimidate,” “harass” and “entrap” American citizens. Greene referenced the raid of former President Donald Trump’s private residences at the Mar-a-Lago resort in Palm Beach, Florida, which occurred in August of 2022, Fox News reported.

In addition to introducing articles of impeachment against the Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, Fox News reported.
