(RepublicanDaily.org) – In one of the most controversial moves of his presidency, Donald Trump withdrew from former President Barack Obama’s nuclear deal with Iran in 2018, re-imposing sanctions on the Middle Eastern nation. Though critics saw the withdrawal as high-risk, it has since become clear it was the right move at the time.
With Joe Biden now in charge, our approach to Iran and its nuclear program could be set to change. On Sunday, March 14, Trump-era Secretary of State Mike Pompeo interviewed on WABC 770 AM. He discussed the previous administration’s strategy and the reasons for its success, stating that Iranians understood “strength” and “power.” While his team did not achieve all they wanted during his tenure, Pompeo continued, they made “an awful lot of progress.”
“The Iranians understand strength. They understand power. They understand resolve. We demonstrated that. And when we did, the Iranians backed down,” Pompeo said. https://t.co/TicOkvlxQi

Biden has indicated he would consider re-joining the deal if Iran became compliant with the relevant limits in relation to stockpiling and the enrichment of uranium. Pompeo criticized this idea, opining that both America and the Middle East will be “less secure” if the president chooses that path.
