Michelle Obama Said She “Sobbed Uncontrollably” on Trump’s Inauguration Day

(RepublicanDaily.org) – Former First Lady Michelle Obama said that she cried “for 30 minutes straight” after leaving the inauguration of former President Donald Trump, CNN reported. Obama claimed she wept because of “how much” the Obama administration had been “holding it together” for the eight years that former President Barack Obama was in office.

Michelle Obama wrote the confessional statement on her The Light Podcast” which was launched on the Audible platform on March 7. The podcast audio comes from the book tour for the former First Lady’s book “The Light We Carry.” The podcast features Obama’s conversations with prominent celebrities such as Oprah Winfrey, Tyler Perry, David Letterman, and Conan O’Brien. “The Light We Carry” had previously been praised as “timely self-help”in November 2022 by the Los Angeles Times.

Obama confessed that her tears were also for the life transition the family would face. The First Lady and Former President Obama’s daughters spent a large portion of their childhood in the White House, after the family previously resided in Chicago, Illinois. Obama said that, while her daughters had some memory of Chicago, the White House had been “the only home” that they had truly known growing up.

Michelle Obama’s podcast and book tour have released at the same time as rumors circled that the former First Lady may put in her bid for a presidential campaign. However, media analysts state that the First Lady has no intention of challenging President Joe Biden in the upcoming 2024 election cycle, The Boston Globe wrote.

Media reports stated that Obama would not want to put her children through the stress of being the children of the president a second time, wrote the Orlando Sentinel in 2017. Obama had historically stated at a conference in April 2017 held at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida that politics is “hard on a family.”
