Mass Child Trafficking Bust Leads to Freed Children

Mass CHILD TRAFFICKING Bust – Countless Victims Involved

( – Operation Lost Souls, a three-week effort started by various agencies in Texas, had a mission to find as many missing youths as possible. The operation took place in West Texas, with federal, state, and local agencies locating 70 missing children between the ages of 10 and 17. Many of the kids were victims of physical and sexual abuse, and sex trafficking. Upon recovery, the children and their families were offered counseling from victims’ services in the area.

The operation ran from the end of April through mid-May and was a joint effort among Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) in El Paso, various agencies on all governmental levels, and the Texas Department of Public Safety. Many of the recovered youths were runaways.

HSI El Paso Deputy Special Agent in Charge Taekuk Cho said his department is committed to continue working with police and other authorities to find more children, help the missing heal, and bring the perpetrators to justice.

In fact, the agency is currently investigating additional leads to save more kids from becoming victims and suffering physical and mental abuse. Several other departments in the area are working together to gather more leads about those who are still missing.

They ask anyone with information to contact the National Human Trafficking Hotline by calling (888) 373-7888.
