(RepublicanDaily.org) – Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) has lost a lot of friends in the Republican Party over the last 12 months. Following her decision to oppose former President Donald Trump in the impeachment proceedings against him, she lost her position as House GOP Conference chair, and is also no longer recognized as a Republican by the Wyoming GOP. However, there are some party figures that still support her.
On Friday, December 17, a group of 51 former lawmakers (25 Republicans and 26 Democrats) published an open letter addressed to Reps. Cheney and Adam Kinzinger (R-IL) for their work on the House select committee investigating the events of January 6. The retired legislators form part of Issue One’s ReFormer Caucus, a bipartisan association of former lawmakers and other government officials.
Former Congressman Zach Wamp (R) is the co-chair of the group. He singled out Rep. Cheney in particular for praise in one part of the letter, saying she had managed to remain courageous in the face of “unruly opposition.”

Of course, among a large percentage of conservative voters, the feeling is very different. Kinzinger has already announced he won’t seek re-election in 2022, as has Rep. Anthony Gonzalez (R-OH), who also voted to impeach Trump.
Might this be Liz Cheney’s last term in the House as well?
