Kamala Harris on Late Night With Seth Meyers, Calls Out Clarence Thomas
(RepublicanDaily.org) – The US Supreme Court has frequently provided a target for liberal ire since the appointment of Justice Amy Coney Barrett gave Conservatives a 6-3 supermajority on the bench. Justice Clarence Thomas has often borne the brunt of this for his unapologetically right-wing stances. Vice President Kamala Harris was the most recent Democratic figure to take a shot at the justice.
On Monday, October 10, Harris appeared on the “Late Night with Seth Meyers” show for a discussion about various aspects of her ongoing work. When the pair landed on the subject of abortion, the vice president was quick to criticize the Supreme Court for its decision in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, which overturned Roe v. Wade and gave states the authority to decide whether or not to allow abortion procedures within their borders.
Harris then called out Clarence Thomas specifically for comments he made suggesting that the Supreme Court might also change the law around contraception.
The vice president said Democrats want to pass legislation that would prevent states from banning abortion. If her party claims two extra Senate seats in this November’s midterms, she said, this outcome could become a reality.
