(RepublicanDaily.org) – Joe Biden’s presidency is only two weeks old, but the flaws in his administration’s policy ideas are already beginning to show. One of the key criticisms of his approach centers around the economic fallout that may result from his ruthless prioritization of environmental initiatives, including the discontinuation of the Keystone XL pipeline project.
On Tuesday, February 2, a South Dakota hotel owner appeared on Fox News to discuss the impact the project will have on her business. Laurie Cox opened a hotel in Midland in September 2020 to accommodate workers involved in the Keystone XL project. Now that President Biden has halted progress on it, she’s deeply concerned about her future.
Laurie Cox owns this hotel in Midland, South Dakota—a town with a population of about 120. It’s in the path of the Keystone XL pipeline, and a lot of her customers are workers on the project.

Once completed, the pipeline would have carried 800,000 barrels of oil through the United States every day. The pausing of the project has cost around 1,000 jobs.
It’s important to remember the Keystone XL project is only the tip of the iceberg. If more radical environmentalists, like Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), are allowed to direct policy, the economic consequences could be truly disastrous.
