(RepublicanDaily.org) – President Joe Biden’s picks for Cabinet and other federal positions have been causing him some headaches since he took office. In March, he was forced to abandon his first choice for the Office of Management and Budget after Neera Tanden failed to win the support of a Senate majority.
Now, it appears another of his nominees could be in hot water. On Tuesday, April 13, The Hill reported that 18 Republican Senators, led by Bill Hagerty (TN) and Tom Cotton (AR), wrote a letter to FBI Director Christopher Wray seeking an investigation of Colin Kahl, Biden’s pick for undersecretary of Defense. The proposed investigation would seek to find out whether Kahl released or looked for classified information after leaving his role with the Obama administration.

The lawmakers also asked that Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) not advance the nomination until the completion of the requested probe.
The chief allegations against Kahl center around tweets he sent that shared sensitive information about foreign military activities. If true, it’s fair to say that anyone who has this little appreciation for the secrecy of such material has no place working in a senior role at the Department of Defense.
