GOP Leader Promises to Fight AGAINST Donald Trump!

Republican Says He’d Campaign Against Trump in 2024

(RepublicanDaily.org) – Former President Donald Trump has repeatedly shown he has remained a force to be reckoned with within the Republican Party since he left the Oval Office. However, he still has a lot of enemies within the GOP. Colorado US Senate candidate Joe O’Dea is one of these, and he’s making no secret of his intentions around the presidential race in 2024.

On Sunday, October 16, O’Dea told CNN’s “State of the Union” program that he’s opposed to the idea of Donald Trump running for the White House on the GOP ticket in 2024. The Colorado Republican went so far as to say he’d campaign against the former president in the primary to help another conservative aspirant run instead. O’Dea took issue with the January 6 riot, in particular, claiming Trump failed in his duty to prevent the violence on the day. He also stated anyone involved in disorderly conduct that day should face consequences.

According to Ballotpedia, Trump remains the clear frontrunner to win the next Republican Party presidential nomination. However, challengers like Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, former Vice President Mike Pence and former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley are gaining ground.

O’Dea’s own chances of success in his upcoming Senate election look bleak. FiveThirtyEight’s average poll counter shows that Democratic incumbent Senator Michael Bennet has a 7.9-point lead at the time of writing.

If it looks like O’Dea is going to lose his run for the Senate, how much will voters care what he has to say about Trump?
