WATCH: Fox Reporter CORNERS Biden’s Press Secretary – Camera Catches Everything
(RepublicanDaily.org) – Last week, President Joe Biden announced he would cancel up to $20,000 in student debt for millions who qualify. This decision has been met with derision by many commentators who feel the move is unfair on taxpayers who will have to shoulder the cost of these debts despite many never having attended college themselves. On Thursday, August 25, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre found herself struggling to answer a tricky question about the policy.
Fox News’ Jacqui Heinrich put it to the press secretary that the Biden administration had used the HEROES Act to forgive student debt without Congressional approval by claiming the pandemic has made student debt a national emergency. However, as the reporter highlighted, the administration has argued the pandemic is over, so why is the debt forgiveness tied to a national emergency and the HEROES act?
As you can see in the video below, Jean-Pierre struggled to come up with a coherent explanation for the apparent contradiction.
JACQUI TIME: "The Heroes Act hinges on student debt…being tied to the pandemic & that being a national emergency, but the administration argued in court that [it's] over…So, how is…COVID a national emergency when it comes to student debt?"

Biden’s scheme will see single graduates earning less than $125,000, or married couples earning less than $250,000, save up to $10,000 on their loan repayments. For graduates who are Pell grant recipients, the sum forgiven rises to as much as $20,000 per person.
What do you think about the decision to forgive student debts?
