(RepublicanDaily.org) – Now the presidential race is over (pending the outcome of reviews), the most important race on our hands is the one to find a COVID-19 vaccine. We received good news on that front on Monday, November 16, as pharmaceuticals firm Moderna announced their vaccine was 94.5% effective in the prevention of the virus. This followed Pfizer’s announcement last week that their candidate was 90% effective.
Now, interesting news has emerged about the funding behind Moderna’s program. Vanderbilt University Medical Center (the organization in charge of the trial) revealed that country music legend Dolly Parton donated $1 million in April. The “Dolly Parton Covid-19 Research Fund” was one of the project’s angels.

The recent positive news about vaccine developments has made everyone a little more optimistic about the COVID-19 situation. Thanks to the dedication of scientists, and the generosity of benefactors like Parton, we may be nearing the end of this crisis.
