Democratic Candidate Drops Controversial Election Challenge

( – Rita Hart, an Iowa Democratic candidate for the House of Representatives in the last election, sought to contest the results of her race after she lost by six votes. She appealed to the House to overturn the results in her favor, claiming she and her legal team had found 22 uncounted votes that would have won her the election.

On Wednesday, March 31, Hart announced she was withdrawing this motion. She wished Mariannette Miller-Meeks (R), her victorious opponent, “all the best” as Iowa’s congresswoman. However, she maintained that a “toxic campaign of political disinformation” had gotten in the way of the proper review procedure, and that this had “effectively silenced the voices of Iowans.”

Republicans in the House had opposed Hart’s challenge. House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (D-CA) traveled to Iowa to support Rep. Miller-Meeks earlier this week.

Democratic voters across the country attacked Donald Trump and his supporters for questioning the results of the 2020 presidential election earlier this year. However, when one of their own attempted to launch a similar appeal, they were notably silent. In fact, the House was even accused by Republicans of looking for ways to take the seat. The hypocrisy of the Left was on full display.
