Cuomo Responds to Calls for Resignation

( – Calls for New York Governor Andrew Cuomo to resign have been mounting over the last few days. Three women (two of whom worked in his administration) have come forward to accuse the Democrat of inappropriate conduct. Dozens of lawmakers from both sides of the aisle have called for either his resignation or impeachment.

On Wednesday, February 5, Cuomo addressed this during a press briefing, stating he had no intention of resigning and wished to continue “doing the job the people of [New York] elected [him] to do.”

He apologized for having “made people feel uncomfortable” but said he had never touched anyone inappropriately. A widely-shared photo shows Cuomo handling the face of his third accuser, Anna Ruch, on the night the alleged misconduct took place.

New York’s attorney general is set to investigate the allegations against Cuomo, and the governor has committed to cooperating. The probe’s findings will be made available to the public once its work concludes.
