Comedian CANCELLED After What He Said About Ocasio-Cortez
(RepublicanDaily.org) – Comedians nowadays frequently complain that it’s becoming increasingly difficult for them to ply their trade without causing offense. A growing number of subjects have become taboo to joke about, and fewer established comics can’t take risks for fear of losing bookings. One conservative comedian in Washington, DC, recently heckled Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), and some people felt he went too far.
Comedian Alex Stein approached AOC as she was headed to the Capitol Building, making remarks about her physical appearance and ethnicity. He also made references to her stance on abortion. The same day, Stein heckled other politicians as they approached the government buildings, including Reps. Adam Kinzinger (R-IL) and Jamaal Bowman (D-NY).
After controversy erupted about the comments Stein made to AOC, a comedy club where he was scheduled to appear canceled his gig. The DC Arts Center announced it could no longer allow the divisive comedian to perform as it’s a nonprofit with little funding for security. Following the cancellation, the comedian claimed he would perform for his fans at the Capitol Building for free instead. He blamed the New York Democrat for persuading the comedy venue to cancel his show.
Omg @AOC got the @dcartscenter to Cancel my Comedy Show tonight! Full refund for the people that bought Tickets! If you still want to see me perform come to The Capitol tonight at 9:30pm! pic.twitter.com/jLiKgSJNxz

Do you think the DC Arts Center made the right decision in calling off Stein’s show?
