Biden's Green Agenda Now Allegedly Involves Child Labor

( – President Joe Biden has made no secret of his ambition to cut America’s carbon footprint. Worryingly, he seems content to go to very extreme lengths to further his green agenda. The Biden Administration has just entered a deal with the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) to allow new mining projects to take place in the African nation, despite the well-documented track record of child labor in the industry there.

Secretary of State Antony Blinken officially entered the deal, which also involves Zambia, on Tuesday, December 13. The agreement will see financing flow to both African nations for the mining of cobalt, an essential part of the manufacturing process for electric vehicle (EV) batteries. Blinken praised the two nations for their involvement in the EV industry during his address.

However, a report by Fox News Digital uncovered widespread issues with child slave labor in the cobalt mining industry in DRC. According to a UNICEF statistic, there are an estimated 40,000 children working in mines in the south of the country.

Rep. Pete Stauber (R-MN) was among the Republican lawmakers to speak out over this issue. He accused the Biden Administration of knowingly funding a project that could use child labor rather than approving mining projects in the US.

Do you think it’s acceptable for our government to finance projects that risk promoting child labor in the pursuit of environmental goals?
