Biden Calls for Congresswoman Who Died in Car Crash
(RepublicanDaily.org) – Ever since Joe Biden first indicated his intention to run for the White House in 2020, questions about his mental acuity have swirled. After countless gaffes, these uncertainties have only grown more pronounced. In his most recent blunder, the president appeared to search a crowd for a deceased lawmaker during a speaking engagement last week, bringing the issue back under the spotlight once again.
The lawmaker in question was Rep. Jackie Walorski (R-IN), who tragically passed away along with two staffers following a car accident in August. The driver of the other vehicle involved also died. When paying tribute to the bipartisan group of legislators who introduced legislation about food insecurity, Biden looked around the room and asked, “Where’s Jackie?”
Media coverage of the story intensified following White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre’s handling of it later that day. Despite facing questions from numerous reporters about the incident, Jean-Pierre insisted it occurred because the deceased lawmaker was “top of mind” for the president, rejecting the notion he had made a mistake.
Republicans were quick to seize on the gaffe as well. Rep. David Schweikert (R-AZ) criticized the president’s “unacceptable comments” and stated Biden needed to “personally apologize” to those close to Rep. Walorski.
Do you think this incident reflects a lack of mental sharpness on Joe Biden’s part?
