(RepublicanDaily.org) – Former California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger expressed exasperation with the way he perceives Democrats to be running local governments, saying in a podcast interview that feels that liberals are “ruining cities.”
The former bodybuilder and Mr. Universe served as governor of California from 2003 to 2011 and was speaking on fellow actor Rob Lowe’s podcast, “Literally! With Rob Lowe” on SiriusXM.
Lowe was talking about what it meant to be a Republican, citing former Republican California Representative David Drier, who described the GOP’s primary platforms as being focused on a strong military, less government interference, more personal freedoms, and lower taxes.
“Strong law enforcement,” the former governor added.
But when asked in turn what Democrats stood for, Schwarzenegger said, “Ruin your cities.”
“We (the Democrats) want to *** up every city in America,” the veteran action star added, saying that it seems to be a seemingly unexplainable “theme” among Democrats at the moment.
In a separate appearance on the TV talk show “The View,” Schwarzenegger also talked about the country needing more comprehensive and stronger immigration reform, especially given the crisis at the border. He explained that he believes that the current system is “set up to commit a crime,” citing increased risk of terrorists and drug cartels entering the U.S. because of the chaos at the southern border.
Besides the millions of interceptions of attempted illegal crossings by the U.S. Customs and Border Patrol this year, the agency has also reported encounters with thousands of “special interest aliens” since 2021. “Special interest aliens” are individuals from countries the U.S. believes fosters or promotes an environment that encourages terrorism.
Schwarzenegger also said that while he believes “very strongly in having a border that no one can get through,” he also recognized the need for workers in the U.S., saying that the system should also undergo reforms so that people who are eligible and able to work in the U.S. can get a hold of work visas. “We need the workers here,” he said, emphasizing that the government should work to prevent people from working here illegally.
