80% of Democrats Want RFK Jr. to Debate Biden

(RepublicanDaily.org) – A recent political poll finds that 80% of Democrats want Robert F. Kennedy Jr., the son of the late former Attorney General Robert Kennedy, to debate President Joe Biden in the upcoming 2024 Presidential elections. The poll reportedly finds that 72 percent of Biden’s supporters would like to see the president debate his contender.

However, media reports have noted that while many Democrats would like to see the debate take place, the president has “no interest” in debating Kennedy. In addition to Biden’s disinterest, the Democratic National Convention has reportedly stated that the convention will not sponsor any debates.

Director of the Suffolk Political Research Center David Paleologos stated that Biden’s decision not to debate RFK was “denying” the diverse cohort of Democrats, spanning women, young people, union households, and even independent voter groups, who not only were planning to go vote in the primaries but also wanted to see the Democratic debates.

Leading Democrats, including former First Lady and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, have come forward and voiced concern over Biden’s age, and the rumors that the elderly Biden is suffering from early-stage dementia. For this reason, Democrats are not unified on the prospect of appointing Biden as the Democratic nominee for 2024, even though the President has formally announced his reelection bid.

The administration surrounding Joe Biden reportedly sees the president, who is an octogenarian, as having “unfinished” business in what he regards as his preservation of American democracy. However, those who support Biden’s re-election bid have reportedly faced a struggle in convincing their party that Biden is up to the challenge of a second term in the Oval Office.

As Democrats continue to mull Biden’s campaign, and polled voters appeared disappointed with the DNC’s decision to stall debates, the Republican side of the political aisle has been forging ahead with a line-up of candidates and heated debates.
