(RepublicanDaily.org) – Millions of small businesses in America have had no choice but to close their doors in the midst of the pandemic. Thousands more are facing closure at the moment. There are a few things we can all do to help them remain in business this year.
This might seem like obvious advice, but it’s by far the most important thing we can do to keep small businesses afloat. At a time when giant online retailers can provide almost everything more cheaply and conveniently than physical stores, it’s up to us to make the conscious decision to shop locally.
Make a Donation
In normal times, no business owner would want to rely on donations to stay afloat. However, these are not normal times. Schemes like the one in the video below have helped many businesses to weather this storm and may continue to do so in the coming months.
Use Social Media
Even if your funds are low in the New Year, you can still help small businesses get back on their feet by using your social media profiles to promote them. If you go for a meal or drink in the next few months, post a picture on Facebook or Instagram. You might just convince someone else to pay a visit as well.
Unfortunately, 2021 is likely to bring the closure of many local stores, bars, and restaurants. However, if we all take actions like those listed here, we can help mitigate the damage.
